Funkanova
Vintage clothing and accessories e-commerce site with custom WooCommerce integration.
https://funkanova.ninja/ ↗Funkanova is the love child of Sarah Ellison-Prat and began as a retail store in Woodstock, NY selling hand-picked vintage clothing and accessories. Sarah has been a stylist in New York City for over 20 years and her style and fashion selections are impeccable. Sarah wanted to be able to sell her products on the web without having the site look overly retail-ish but more designed and curated like the clothing and items she sells. Thus, when she wanted to give the store a presence online I knew the site had to not only exquisitely showcase her aesthetic vision but work for her and her employees who were unexperienced with WordPress and e-commerce.
To achieve these goals it was important to involve Sarah throughout the design process, starting with the color palette all the way through the cropping of photos. Sarah knew exactly what she wanted and this made it easy for us to manifest her choices into code.
In the back-end, we fully customized the admin including adding extra fields to her product edit screens for condition and measurements which are crucial for vintage clothing. What's more, we designed a custom color picker so that Sarah can change the header and background colors with the seasons. We also created an online guide to show her and her employees how to enter products, upload images and set the shipping costs.
The brick-and-mortar store in Woodstock has now closed so Sarah can focus on her online retail business and continue her styling work. The fact that she now rarely emails me with questions is the best indication of a successful job, although we are only an email or call away.
